When it comes to beaches I would not recommend Iráklia in The Small Cyclades. Probably Akti Poriou on Konfoníssi is my number one followed by Livadi or Kendros on Donoússa.
Anyway, here are most, probably all of the beaches described:
The beach that you se when you arrive to Iraklia is a small beach by the harbour, Agios Georgios. It's not a beach for me since I search for remote places, but I was spending some time here reading a good book beneath a tamarisk.
The probably most talked about beach is Livadi. It's a wide sandy beach at a distance some 15-20 minutes walk from Agios Georgious. My impression is that most tourists gather here; quite busy, typical family beach.
Spilia. To get here, take the road most right out of Agios Georgious and then walk 35-45 minutes. The spot is nice, but because of garbage and oil I rank this beach one of the most unattractive I ever have seen!
With the help of a boat you can reach the cove Karvounolakos. I just saw this beach from a distance while walking in the landscape south of Agios Ioannis cave. Probably the brave ones can reach the cove by climbing, but I certainly don't recommend that!
Not far from Karvounolakos, at the south-west edge of Iráklia you will find the cove of Alimia. Mainly reachable with boat.
