Agios Georgios
On the main street of Agios Georgios a nice tavern is situated: Ο ΠΕΥΚΟΣ - Pegos. The outdoor section is beneath a huge tree that offers shadow. The food is splendid and here I had the best mousaka so far (This was year 2000. Unfortunately I had tried many, uninspiring mousakas). The tavern is pretty frequented also outside the main season, and I believe that the good reputation of the delicious food is wide spread!

Chora (Panaghia)
The combined bakery/restaurant ΤΟ ΣΤΕΚΙ - "To Steki", is another nice place to eat. You get home-made tasteful dishes made of fresh products from their own sources.
I must say that food in these kinds of restaurants is great! Fresh local quality products are proven to give a very tasty result! This is my experience during my travels on the Greek islands. I also like the idea with local production for several reasons:
- Small scale production can focus on high quality.
- It keeps remote areas alive.
- Also keeps transportation of food to a minimum, thus does not devastate our precious environment.
Liviadi (not far from)
Between Agios Georgios and Livadi beach you find tavern George Gavalas place and bar The delayed boat. I was having lunch here a couple of times after long walks on the island. It is fantastic how sweet a glass of water can taste when you are thirsty after a hard workout! From this establishment you have a splendid view over the sea and neighbouring island Schinoússa.
