In 1997 I had my meals at the tavern closest to the harbour, ΤΑ ΚΥΜΑΤΑ own by Nikitas Markoulis, who is Maria's father. There are 3-4 more taverns to choose among, for instance Passion Sofia that was recommended by my fellow Swedes.
Four years later I tried a couple of more taverns. ΤΟ ΗΛΙΟΒΑΣΙΛΕΜΑ - ILIOVASILEMA is nice situated after the Stavros beach up on the rocks overlooking the sea, end with a splendid view and excellent sunsets. The food is nice as well
My favourite this year was ΑΠΟΣΠΕΡΙΤΗΣ - APOSPERITIS. This tavern is situated just behind Stavros beach, see photo article. The tavern has a nice interior/exterior of beautiful stone walls and a lovely view towards the beach and harbour. When it comes to the food it is excellent. The mandatory "Greek salad" is great, as well as "Stuffed tomatoes" and "Chicken in oven with lemon sauce" to mention a few.
