  • Livadia

In Livadia you will find the most places to eat on the island. The taverns and restaurants vary from typical Greek country food, pizzeria, mix with influences from Greek, French and Vietnamese cuisines, and of course coffee shops and breakfast places.

Personally I'm very fond of well done Greek country food made from preferably local products. I'm not familiar enough with the whole situation on Tilos, but I know that some restaurants use locally produces meet, for example.

I want to mention few of my favourites in Livadia. Right on the shore near the church is Irina (alias Stefanos and Maria) situated. They serve excellent home made inexpensive food with a friendly service. It's a nice place for a romantic dinner right by the the sea a few metres away.

You will find Sofias Restaurant situated nicely by the shore right after the church. The food is delicious, made of local products and the prices are reasonable. The wine of the house from Peloponnesus is good value. This restaurant is popular and around 8-8.30 PM all tables are occupied (mid June). One evening I tried spicy chicken with rice with a good wine.

If you want to rest from the typical Greek dishes, Joanna's Cafe Bar might be an alternative. They offer pizzas, Italian plates of different kinds, breakfast, home-made cakes, good Italian wine, cocktails, coffee and more. When I was there I had a tasty Italian pizza with good Italian wine. For starters I got really tasty slices of bread together with tzatziki and some more stuff.

  • Megalo Horio

When I was in Tilos during mid June, I'm not sure if there is more than one tavern operating. Anyway, the one that I found, ΤΟ ΚΑΣΤΡΟ, is nicely situated with a splendid view(see photo section) over the south-facing valley and Eristos bay. I tried a couple of Greek dishes there and was entirely happy with what I got. The people there are nice and friendly.
