The information about Tílos are divided into ten different articles: o Introduction o Map o Where to stay o Favourite taverns o Getting around o Walking o Arts & Gifts o A few nice spots o Beaches o Photos (see menu) During my travel to the Greek islands I focus on the Cyclades, because I want to visit my long-time friends on Folégandros, and that is hard to combine with visits to other parts of Greece.

Most accommodations are to be found in Livadia, which also is the harbour of the island. Every time a boat arrives an information kiosk opens, and on a huge board you can find photos and information about different accommodations.

In Livadia you will find the most places to eat on the island. The taverns and restaurants vary from typical Greek country food, pizzeria, mix with influences from Greek, French and Vietnamese cuisines, and of course coffee shops and breakfast places.

There are several ways of getting around on Tilos. I mention this old fashion method first, because I consider walking on Tilos to be a very nice way of getting to know some parts of the island and especially the lovely scenery and old paths, ideal for walking.

On many developed and overcrowded islands you find a lot of stuff to buy in gift shops. The items don’t seem to vary that much compared to other destinations in Europe or even Bali in Indonesia. But on Tilos there are a few shops with, what I would like to call, quality items.

Tilos is a rather well-known island among people that enjoy walking. A necessity for walking is a good map or a walking guide and you actually find both on Tilos. The very accurate map is prepared by Baz "Paris" Ward, sold locally.

Tilos is in many ways a lovely island. The subject line may indicate that there are only a few nice spots on Tilos, but on the contrary. The nature is lovely on this island, and you would be able to find you own favourite spots when you get there! A few places I would like to recommend are listed here:

There are about twelve beaches on Tilos, depending on how you count. I've just been able to visit a few. If you want to visit all in a few days you need a fast speed boat, but I prefer to spend my holidays without any stress in a slow pace.
