I consider the best way of getting around the island is to hire a motorbike or another vehicle of your choice. Mainly because you will not be able to visit many of the wonderful beaches in the south if you have to depend on the local buses.

The main roads are in good condition, but the dirt roads nearest some of the beaches could be rather trying. In the eastern part of the island the are not many roads and they are often in a bad shape.
