Coffee shops

I'm a coffee lover and among my favourites is a strong filter coffee, espresso, cappuccino and frappe.

I've never learned to enjoy Greek coffee. Compared to a real espresso Greek coffee is a poor relative. So I guess the only Greek coffee I really enjoy is the cold version frappe, based on instant coffee, ice cold water and in my case some milk. I do that coffee home in Sweden during hot summer days and dream back to the Greek islands.

There are several coffee shops on Folégandros, some that have been there as long as I can remember and some brand new. Here is a list of selected ones:

ΚΑΣΤΡΟ - Kastro cafe, situated a few metres after the first square, before the first entrance to Kastro: Paraporti. It's a traditional coffee shop, that have been here long. The interior is simple and moderate. There are a few chairs outside.

ΤΟ ΜΙΚΡΟ, it's a fairly new coffee shop at the end of Makari Square, the 5th square in Chora. Here you can get a nice espresso and pancakes with different fillings, among other things. As the name indicates, it's a small place but with tasteful interior and with some tables outside.
