On many places throughout Greece there take place traditional and extensive Easter festivities, and Folégandros is one of these places. Many Greeks return here every year to take part in the traditions and celebrations. Later years even tourists, as they call non-Greeks, have discovered the excitement of this tradition.

Another thing that must be considered as a bonus is that the nature in Greece is so very different around Easter time compared to later in summer, or even after some weeks in May. When you watch all the flowers and grass explode in some kind of colour symphony all over the landscape, where there normally use to be some brown stuff, it's easy to get overwhelmed by the beauty of a Greek island during early spring!

This page will in short describe the Easter celebration on Folégandros, mostly by beautiful photos!

If you are interested in watching more amazing spring photos, please take a look at the general section about Folégandros Island, and photo folders 2003 and 2003-trekking.
