When I went of the ferry at the harbour of Katápola, early in the morning, there were no people there, offering rooms. So I went to a coffee shop, sat down and had some breakfast.
There were some French girls there, who gave me a tip about a room, but I never found that place. After some walking, I found a room, a little too expensive, but it had this beautiful view toward the sea and harbour.
Two days later the host told me to leave, because they had rented the whole place to a Greek family. They never mentioned this to me two days earlier! There wasn't much for me to do but leave, and try to find another place to stay. After a couple of hours search, I found a simple, but very nice and cheep room, where I could stay the rest of the week
This incident is something that could happen, if you're travelling during 'the wrong' season, i.e. main season. But luckily for me, the experience had a happy ending!
